Don't Cling to Insights

In the early spring of the first year of training at Willow (2020), before the organization was officially open, there was a group of 4-5 of us that were there coworking and training by following a daily schedule similar to MAPLE’s and having Brooks Yardley offer what forms he could from his time at MAPLE.

One day, I, Virabhadra, had a particular experience in meditation that I was interested in and perhaps proud of so I talked about it with Brooks.

Brooks, in response, told me about what Harada Roshi had said to Soryu one time after Soryu had had his own particular breakthrough in meditation and then met with the Roshi:

“Don't go chasing shadows”, later corrected by Soryu to “Don't get caught on shadows”.
