Immortality pill 1
I was with Soryu in San Francisco at a public meditation event, and a participant asked him, “Many people are now claiming that medicine will be able to reverse aging, so that we will never die. If there were a pill that could achieve this, would you take it?”
He said, “No.”
I thought this was interesting, since earlier, as an ice-breaker, the group’s leader said that an AI had prompted him to prompt the group to state what skill they wish to magically instantaneously acquire. Most people said they’d like to be able to magically instantaneously play a musical instrument well. A few said they’d like to be able to dance or speak another language.
When it was my turn to share, I said, “I’d like the skill of saving all beings from suffering.” The leader said, “That’s not the point of the prompt.”
When it was Soryu’s turn, he said, “I’m sorry, but I can’t think of even a single skill that I’d like to magically instantaneously acquire.”
